Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, recently declared that the 2027 presidential race remains within reach for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. During a Sunday service, the cleric warned that Atiku’s political future depends on his approach, noting that a passive strategy could lead to failure against President Bola Tinubu, whom he characterized as a highly determined political figure.
The Primate argued that President Tinubu faces significant resistance in the North, suggesting the All Progressives Congress will need to undertake major reconciliation efforts to regain support in that region. He emphasized that northern voters appear to be uniting behind Atiku. Regarding the current administration, Ayodele suggested that President Tinubu should focus on his health and recovery, while also noting that the president’s political ambition exceeds that of his rivals and the electoral commission itself.
