Maintaining Neutrality During Elections
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern warning to its members in Osun State, prohibiting them from participating in partisan politics. This directive aims to safeguard the integrity of upcoming elections and ensure the personal safety of all participants.
Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, the Osun State NYSC Coordinator, delivered these remarks during the conclusion of the 2026 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course at the Ede camp. He emphasized that corps members serving as ad-hoc electoral staff must maintain a professional and objective stance throughout the process.
Responsible Conduct and Online Behavior
Beyond political engagement, the leadership addressed the importance of digital responsibility. Corps members were warned against disseminating misinformation or inflammatory content on social media, as such actions could negatively reflect on the organization’s reputation. Additionally, they were encouraged to prioritize their personal safety, observe local customs, and maintain open communication with supervisors.
Kubiangha praised the graduates for their resilience during the three-week training and encouraged them to approach their primary assignments with dedication, punctuality, and professionalism. He highlighted that their individual conduct is essential to preserving the public standing and success of the national service scheme.
