9-Year-Old Boy Missing as Hoodlums Steal Cattle in Ogun
The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for three yet-to-be-identified men who stormed a cattle settlement to steal cows in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred at about 1 a.m. on Thursday at a cattle settlement belonging to Yahaya Adamu in Idologbo bush via Idi-Oke, Igbesa.
The suspects, during the raid, held Yahaya’s two sons—9-year-old Isah Adamu and 15-year-old Dahiru Adamu—hostage while stealing 100 cows.
The suspects later took Isah and demanded he lead them to his father’s location.
Confirming the incident to DAILY POST, the police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that Yahaya reported the incident to the Idi-Oke division at about 12 p.m. on the said date.
According to her, the complainant said upon receiving the report, he mobilized his friends, pursued the thieves into the bush, and recovered the stolen cows in the Latikay, Lusada area. However, his son, Isah, was not found.
Odutola noted that upon receiving the information, officers from the division swiftly visited the scene, combed the surrounding bushes, and initiated investigations to trace the missing child and apprehend the perpetrators.
She stated, “On the 6th March 2025, at about 1200hrs, one Adamu Yahaya (male) of Akile Idologbo, reported that at about 0100hrs, three unidentified young men stormed their cattle settlement in Idologbo bush via Idi-Oke.
