75-Year-Old Man Shot In Fresh Herdsmen Attack On Benue Community

A 75-year-old man, Mr. Iorkohol Dabu, was shot and seriously injured on Tuesday following an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Udei community, Nyiev Council Ward, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to eyewitnesses, the armed attackers stormed the community in the early hours, firing indiscriminately at residents.

Mr. Dabu was hit during the assault and is currently undergoing treatment for multiple gunshot wounds.

Photos from the scene, shared by Citizen Television, show the aftermath of the attack, including bullet-riddled iron doors and shattered glass windows—evidence of the assault’s severity.

As of the time of this report, security agencies have yet to release an official statement, and no arrests have been reported.
