2025 UTME: JAMB Scrutinizing Complaints To Address Technical Issues
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it is investigating complaints related to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in a bid to identify and address any technical issues.
In response to what it described as “a significant volume of unusual complaints” concerning the recently released UTME results, JAMB confirmed it has convened a team of experts to conduct a comprehensive review.
The review panel includes members of the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners (comprising heads of tertiary institutions), the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, measurement specialists, and vice chancellors from universities nationwide.
In a statement released by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB expressed particular concern about the volume of complaints originating from certain states, suggesting possible localized technical or administrative issues that warrant closer scrutiny.
“In response, the Board is fast-forwarding its annual system review — a comprehensive post-mortem of the examination process usually conducted months after the exercise,” the statement read.
According to JAMB, the review will encompass the entire examination process—including registration, the conduct of the exam, and the release of results. The board emphasized that any technical disruptions encountered during the exam period are consistently followed by immediate rescheduling for the affected candidates.
“We are currently scrutinising these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues,” the statement continued.
“If it is determined that there were indeed glitches, we will implement appropriate remedial measures promptly, as we do in the case of the examinations themselves.”
