Zamfara State Authorities Report Over 300 Militants Neutralized in Gummi

The government of Zamfara State has officially reported the elimination of roughly 300 suspected terrorists following a large-scale security initiative in the Gummi Local Government Area. Mahmud Dantawasa, the Commissioner for Information, provided these details in a recent update.

This military action occurred on July 9, 2026, and is viewed as a major advancement in the regional fight against violence and criminal activity. Governor Dauda Lawal praised the bravery and skill of the Nigerian Armed Forces and affiliated security units, highlighting how their success has boosted local morale.

Governor Lawal stated that his office will continue to provide logistical support and intelligence to assist security personnel in their mission to restore order.
