Wike Commends Remi Tinubu’s Initiative in Enhancing Abuja City Gate

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has lauded First Lady Remi Tinubu for her role in upgrading the Abuja City Gate, urging citizens to emulate her dedication to improving public infrastructure.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, recently encouraged Nigerians to follow the example set by First Lady Remi Tinubu. He praised her for her proactive efforts in supporting her husband’s administration by identifying and addressing specific needs within the capital.

During the unveiling of the newly renovated Abuja City Gate, an event marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s presidency, Wike shared how the First Lady initiated the project. He emphasized that she requested the renovation without interfering with contract procurement, choosing instead to focus on the aesthetic improvement of the capital.

The minister highlighted the transformation of the site, which now includes improved lighting and water fountains. He noted that while the government prioritizes infrastructure like schools and roads, the First Lady’s contribution significantly enhanced the city’s visual appeal. Wike asserted that her actions demonstrate how the office of the First Lady can effectively bridge gaps in governance, and he commended her for using her position to improve public landmarks that had previously been overlooked.
