National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu met with a US delegation led by Frank Garcia to address Nigeria’s worsening security situation and bolster bilateral cooperation.

Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, recently conducted a meeting with a senior United States delegation to enhance collaborative efforts against the nation’s rising security challenges. The American group was headed by Frank Garcia, the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, marking his inaugural official trip to Nigeria since his confirmation.

Ribadu indicated that the conversation centered on the Nigeria–US Joint Working Group’s current status and the solidification of the strategic security alliance between the two nations. In a statement shared on social media, Ribadu highlighted that the dialogue reinforced their mutual commitment to security priorities and collaborative governance.

This diplomatic engagement coincides with a difficult period for Nigeria, as the country faces frequent violent assaults from criminal gangs, bandits, and terrorist cells. Across various regions, the surge in kidnappings and civilian casualties continues to threaten local community stability.
