ASR Africa Delegation Meets Chief of Army Staff to Bolster Cooperation

Representatives from ASR Africa met with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, to discuss ongoing housing projects and future collaboration between the foundation and the Nigerian Army.

Led by Managing Director and CEO Dr. Ubon Udoh, a team from the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) recently visited Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. This meeting was intended to fortify the existing relationship between the organization and the Nigerian military.

Dr. Udoh offered his congratulations to Lieutenant General Shaibu regarding his appointment and expressed his condolences for the passing of the former Chief of Army Staff. He also reported that the construction of the 120-unit housing project for junior ranks, valued at 2 billion naira under the ASR Africa Security Sector Support Grant, is currently 85 percent complete.

Emphasizing the philosophy of ASR Africa Chairman Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Dr. Udoh noted that social harmony and peace are essential foundations for national progress. He reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to finishing the project with full transparency and accountability.

In response, Lieutenant General Shaibu thanked the ASR Africa team and its Chairman for their meaningful contributions. He highlighted that such support inspires military personnel to increase their efforts in service to the nation. Recognizing the significant sacrifices made by his troops, the Chief of Army Staff commended ASR Africa for leading by example and requested further assistance, specifically for the rehabilitation of fallen soldiers’ families.

Established in 2021 by BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu, ASR Africa focuses on delivering sustainable solutions to improve education, health, and social welfare across the continent.
