Violence has claimed two lives in the Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State. The victims include Mr. Daniel Pulle, a 58-year-old community leader, and Mrs. Deborah Benjamin Kak, who passed away from wounds received during a previous assault.
Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary for the Berom Youth Moulders, confirmed the reports on Sunday. Mr. Pulle was ambushed and fatally shot around 7:55 p.m. while riding his motorcycle toward his home in the Gana-Ropp community of Barkin Ladi.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Kak succumbed to her injuries at the Jos University Teaching Hospital. She had been hospitalized since June 26 following an attack on her home in the Bachi District of Riyom. The Berom Youth Moulders have urged authorities to bolster security measures to halt the ongoing instability in these regions. Attempts to reach Plateau State Police spokesperson SP Alfred Alabo for comment remain unsuccessful.
