Two fatalities reported following Ogun State vehicle collision

Two men were killed in a collision between a truck and a bus near the Ogbere-J4 corridor in Ogun State on Thursday morning.

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has verified that two men passed away in a vehicle accident near the Ogbere-J4 corridor. The incident occurred at 5:10 a.m. on Thursday when a white Mack truck, identified by plate number ABC660XC, collided with an orange Peugeot J5 bus.

According to spokesperson Afolabi Odunsi, the collision involved four men, leaving two dead and two others unharmed. The impact caused the Peugeot bus to ignite, resulting in significant fire damage to its front end. Odunsi identified excessive speed and improper route usage as the primary factors behind the crash.

FRSC officers reached the site shortly after the report to manage traffic and divert vehicles to ensure continued flow. The Ogbere Division of the Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division recovered the bodies and transported them to the morgue. Sector Commander Oludare Ogunjobi extended his sympathies to the victims’ families while urging drivers to strictly adhere to traffic laws, particularly during hazardous driving conditions.
