Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered a match-winning 32 off 19 balls to guide Trent Rockets to a three-wicket victory over Southern Brave, cementing their place in the final of The Hundred. The Rockets faced a difficult start, falling to 10-3 within 25 balls, the lowest powerplay total in the competition’s history. Despite losing top-order threats Sophia Dunkley and Beth Mooney, the team successfully chased the target of 118 with two balls remaining.
Ash Gardner provided stability with a 24-ball 37 before Sciver-Brunt, batting at number seven, accelerated the chase. Her innings included a burst of four boundaries in quick succession off Issy Wong and Charli Knott. Although she was run out with scores level, Kim Garth hit the winning runs. Sciver-Brunt noted that her lower-order appearance was intended to manage a calf injury and provide opportunities for her teammates.
The victory confirms the Rockets as group winners with 28 points. Southern Brave, who posted 117-5 earlier thanks to Maia Bouchier’s 38, will now await the outcome of the match between Manchester Super Giants and Sunrisers Leeds to determine their opponent in the Eliminator.
