Chris Lynn leads Northamptonshire into T20 Blast quarter-finals

Chris Lynn’s second century of the season propelled Northamptonshire into the T20 Blast quarter-finals as other key teams fought to keep their progression hopes alive.

Australian batter Chris Lynn secured a spot in the T20 Blast quarter-finals for the Northamptonshire Steelbacks by blasting a 49-ball century. His total of 117 from 56 deliveries marked his second hundred of the season and paved the way for a 53-run victory over Glamorgan.

Northamptonshire currently leads the Central & West Group with nine wins this campaign. While Glamorgan captain Kiran Carlson provided some resistance with 42, the visitors’ bowling attack, led by Calvin Harrison’s 3-20, dismissed the hosts for 164.

In other fixtures, defending champions Somerset kept their title hopes alive by defeating Derbyshire by 27 runs, despite a spirited 65 from Aneurin Donald. Surrey also neared the knockout stages following a dominant eight-wicket win over Sussex, fueled by an unbeaten 103 from Jason Roy.

Middlesex pulled off an upset against group leaders Hampshire Hawks, winning by five wickets to keep their faint progression hopes alive. Meanwhile, Durham maintained their pursuit of a qualification spot by convincingly overcoming the Leicestershire Foxes by eight wickets, with captain Alex Lees contributing 80 runs.
