The outcome leaves the Rockets vulnerable. Sunrisers Leeds, who are four points behind, could overtake them for the top spot if they defeat the Manchester Super Giants this Tuesday. If both teams finish level on 24 points, the final ranking will rely on net run-rate, an area where the Sunrisers currently hold the advantage.
The Brave’s successful chase was largely driven by a 70-run partnership between Stubbs and Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis contributed a rapid 46 from 25 balls before falling to Ben Sanderson. Stubbs ultimately secured the win by hitting a six off Lewis Gregory, finishing with an impressive 52 not out from 28 deliveries.
Earlier, the Rockets relied on steady contributions from their top order, with Mitchell Santner top-scoring at 35 not out. He and Gregory put together an unbroken 66-run stand to reach the final total. While five different bowlers contributed for the Brave, including captain Chris Jordan, young bowler Manny Lumsden had a difficult outing, conceding 19 runs in his only set.
