Tottenham Hotspur Reports Racist Abuse of Kevin Danso to Police

Tottenham Hotspur has formally reported racist harassment directed at defender Kevin Danso to law enforcement agencies.

The abuse followed a 2-2 draw against Brighton on Saturday, during which an error by the 27-year-old led to a late equalizer.

The club characterized the online messages as dehumanizing and criminal. In an official statement, Tottenham promised to pursue the perpetrators aggressively, emphasizing that poor on-field performance never justifies discriminatory behavior.

The incident coincided with the Premier League’s No Room For Racism campaign. Danso addressed the situation on Instagram, asserting that such abuse does not define him and has no place in the sport or broader society.

The Premier League condemned the incident, noting that offenders face potential bans and legal consequences. Kick It Out, an anti-discrimination organization, also supported the player while highlighting the growing trend of online abuse targeting professional footballers.
