Tokito Oda Defeats Alfie Hewett to Secure Wimbledon Title

Tokito Oda claimed his third Wimbledon men’s wheelchair singles title after a dominant 6-1 6-1 win against Alfie Hewett, bringing his Grand Slam tally to 10.

Tokito Oda has secured his third Wimbledon men’s wheelchair singles title by defeating British star Alfie Hewett. The top-seeded Japanese player delivered a dominant performance on Court One, concluding the match with a decisive 6-1 6-1 victory.

This win marks a sixth consecutive Grand Slam singles victory for the 20-year-old athlete. Since falling to Hewett in the 2025 Australian Open final, Oda has remained undefeated across all four major tournaments. The two competitors have maintained a firm grip on the sport, having secured all 14 Grand Slam titles available since early 2023, with Oda now holding 10 of those trophies and Hewett claiming four.

Hewett, who celebrated a doubles title win with Gordon Reid earlier that weekend, faced significant challenges with his serve, recording 10 double faults throughout the match. Despite the disappointment, the 28-year-old praised Oda as an exceptional competitor. Both players now share a career total of 10 Grand Slam singles titles, placing them joint-second on the all-time leaderboard, trailing the record held by Shingo Kunieda.

In other competition, Niels Vink successfully defended his quad singles title, defeating Sam Schroder 6-1 6-3 to claim his fourth consecutive win at the event.
