President Bola Tinubu has criticized Atiku Abubakar for his role in privatizing government-owned assets during his tenure as Vice President, an action he claims resulted in significant pension arrears for many citizens.
The President addressed this issue on Thursday while meeting with stakeholders from the Northeast who visited to express their gratitude for the reappointment of Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
According to President Tinubu, his current administration is actively settling the pension debt that accumulated following those privatization efforts. He noted that while he is focused on cleaning up the previous administration’s errors, he remains committed to moving forward without dwelling on the past.
Emphasizing his dedication to the nation, President Tinubu stated that his government is focused on providing stability and social welfare. He concluded by asserting that despite the challenges within the democratic process, he intends to lead the country toward prosperity through unity and diversity.
