Three Suspects Detained for Murder of Former OGTV Staff Member and Security Guard

Ogun State police have arrested three men, including the alleged mastermind, for the murder of former OGTV staff member Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.

The Ogun State Police Command has taken three individuals into custody regarding the killing of a retired Ogun State Television employee, Olakitan Oyesiku, and her guard, Pelumi Adetayo. State Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni announced the arrests on Thursday, noting that the breakthrough resulted from forensic work and digital tracking.

Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22, is accused of orchestrating the attack and enlisting Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, as accomplices. The investigation began on June 21, 2026, after local police found signs of forced entry at Oyesiku’s home, where they later discovered the bodies of both victims.

Investigators linked the crime to the theft of the victim’s Lexus SUV. A handwritten note found at the crime scene provided key forensic evidence, allowing officers to track the primary suspect to a construction site in Abeokuta on June 24. During questioning, Philip claimed he planned the attack to settle personal grievances from his previous time working as a security guard for the victim.

The suspects allegedly forced their way into the house by overpowering the security guard on June 20. Following the incident, police recovered the stolen vehicle, alongside weapons including a hammer and a cutlass. Commissioner Ojajuni confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to ensure the suspects face trial, stressing that the command remains dedicated to securing justice for the victims.
