Stella Maris Okafor Refutes Claims of Illegally Selling Late Husband Mr Ibu’s Assets

Stella Maris Okafor, widow of the late actor Mr Ibu, has defended herself against allegations of selling her husband’s property without authorization, citing court orders and family cooperation.

Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of the late Nollywood legend John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu, has publicly denied accusations that she misappropriated funds from the clandestine sale of his assets. Addressing the rumors in a video interview with content creator King Mitchy, she clarified that the transactions were executed under a legitimate court mandate with the full involvement of the actor’s sons, Valentine and Daniel Okafor.

To support her position, Stella Maris presented documentation, including the court order, to prove that she did not act unilaterally. She emphasized that all actions taken were transparent and legal. Beyond the property dispute, she shed light on her current professional life, noting that she manages an online jewelry business. She explained that she had previously deferred this career path because her late husband preferred she focus on her acting roles.

The widow also confirmed plans to vacate her current home, citing high costs. She explained that her move to this residence was purely a protective measure against security threats and intense public scrutiny following her husband’s passing. Regarding claims from a man asserting he is the actor’s son, Stella Maris pointed to underlying family conflicts, specifically noting that some relatives pressured her to distribute funds intended for her children’s welfare following the burial proceedings.
