Sowore Claims Tinubu Fears His Grassroots Support

AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore argues that President Tinubu feels threatened by his grassroots popularity, as he defends himself against defamation claims in Abuja.

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate representing the African Action Congress (AAC), has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is deeply intimidated by his widespread support among the public. Sowore voiced these sentiments on Thursday following a session at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the judge warned that his defense proceedings could be halted if he did not proceed promptly.

The legal action stems from accusations that Sowore defamed the President by labeling him a criminal in social media posts across X and Facebook. Despite the ongoing case, the human rights campaigner maintained that his primary objective is to install a functional leadership capable of revitalizing all national sectors, specifically the judiciary.

Sowore emphasized that his influence is earned without financial handouts or material incentives. He stated that while political rivals rely on distributing goods like bread, rice, or soap, his movement relies solely on genuine support. He remains committed to fixing Nigeria by establishing a transparent and effective government.
