Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for greenlighting the design and procurement of two vital road networks connecting Anambra to adjacent states. Soludo highlighted this move as a strategic step in the President’s ongoing mission to rehabilitate the Southeast region.
Following a discussion between the two leaders on July 1, the Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Dave Umahi, requested specific documentation for the projects. On July 3, Governor Soludo submitted plans for the 108-kilometer Otuocha–Anam–Abaji road and the 150-kilometer Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube road. By July 15, the Ministry of Works confirmed that the President had officially sanctioned the commencement of design and procurement phases for both routes.
Soludo emphasized that these infrastructure projects will serve as significant catalysts for development across the Southeast, South-South, and North-Central zones. He praised the President for his dedication to the region, noting that various foundational projects are currently underway. Furthermore, the governor lauded Minister Dave Umahi for his efficient role in fast-tracking these approvals. Drawing a comparison to Tinubu’s landmark coastal expansion efforts in Lagos, Soludo suggested that the current administration is reshaping the political and infrastructural landscape of the Southeast.
