Vice President Shettima Backs Tinubu’s Economic Reforms

Vice-President Kashim Shettima argues that President Tinubu’s economic policies have successfully grown foreign reserves and attracted new investment, meriting praise rather than criticism.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has voiced his support for the economic overhaul initiated by President Bola Tinubu. During his appearance at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit held in Asaba on Monday, Shettima asserted that the administration’s policies are successfully reviving the national economy and should be lauded instead of criticized.

Shettima highlighted that these measures have effectively increased foreign reserves to more than $52 billion, a significant rise from the $3 billion level the administration initially inherited. He noted that the country has moved past a period of capital flight and is now successfully attracting fresh investment despite global economic instability.

During his address, the Vice-President commended Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his vocal support of the government’s agenda. Shettima noted that Soludo had previously risked his political standing during the 2023 elections by opposing intimidation tactics in favor of grassroots engagement. Looking ahead, the federal administration remains focused on partnering with state leaders to remove bureaucratic barriers and foster a more stable climate for business growth.
