Singer D4vd Apprehended in Connection to Teenage Girl’s Murder
Los Angeles authorities have taken TikTok star and singer D4vd, legally known as David Anthony Burke, into custody on suspicion of killing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The 21-year-old artist is currently being held without bail as the Los Angeles Police Department prepares to submit the case to the District Attorney.
The investigation began after the teenager’s remains were recovered on September 8, 2025, inside a Tesla previously towed to a Hollywood storage lot. Law enforcement officials had been alerted by reports of a strong odor coming from the vehicle, which was linked to an address in Texas associated with the musician.
Inside the car, investigators found a cadaver bag containing the decomposed torso and head of the girl.
Rivas Hernandez had been reported missing by her family in April 2024. While medical examiners confirmed the remains were severely decomposed, they have not yet established an official cause of death.
To preserve the integrity of the ongoing probe, a judge ordered the victim’s death records sealed last November.
Evidence grew against Burke throughout late 2025, with a grand jury hearing testimony in December that identified him as the primary target. Court documents revealed physical markers connecting the two, noting that the victim had a tattoo on her finger reading Shhh, which matched a tattoo worn by the singer.
Following the initial discovery of the remains, Burke canceled his scheduled world tour and stepped away from various brand partnerships.
Although Burke has avoided public comment, his representatives have previously maintained that he was working with law enforcement during the inquiry. He now faces a potential charge of murder as the legal proceedings continue.
