Veteran musician and activist, Charly Boy, has reacted to the renaming of the popular Lagos bus stop that once bore his name.
The bus stop, located in Bariga, was officially renamed Olamide Baddo Bus Stop on Friday, July 25, by the Bariga Local Visual Development Authority (LVDA), in honour of indigenous rapper Olamide, a native of the area.
The change has sparked conversations online, with some interpreting it as politically motivated—citing Charly Boy’s vocal criticism of the current administration.
Responding on social media, Charly Boy shared a graphic of the renamed sign with a cryptic caption that read:
“Bus Stop or no bus stop,
Fada no dey finish.
Go verify.
Dia Father’s left Nyash.”
The statement, layered in satire and typical of Charly Boy’s style, suggests his indifference to the symbolic move, reinforcing his persona as an enduring and unbothered public figure.
