Senator Fadahunsi Urges Supporters to Target Accord Party Members Ahead of Osun Election

Senator Francis Fadahunsi faces backlash after a video surfaced of him encouraging his supporters to kill Accord Party members before the upcoming Osun governorship election.

Francis Fadahunsi, the Senator representing Osun East, has been captured on video instructing his followers to attack and kill individuals associated with the Accord Party. This call to violence comes ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship race in Osun State.

Musician Davido publicized the footage on his official X account this past Tuesday. In the clip, the Senator speaks in Yoruba, questioning why Accord Party members are active in Ilesa and explicitly ordering his supporters to eliminate any member of the opposing party they encounter before the polls close.

These inflammatory remarks were made shortly before the state election. As of this report, Senator Fadahunsi has neither issued an apology nor retracted his statement. It is noteworthy that Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is related to the artist who shared the video, is currently running for a new term, though he is seeking reelection as an Accord Party candidate.
