The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged its members and supporters in Nasarawa State to remain composed following a Lokoja High Court decision. The party has officially filed an appeal, alongside a motion for a stay of execution and an injunction directed at the INEC Chairman.
State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Danjuma Joseph, clarified in a Tuesday press release that the NDC continues to function as a registered political party. He noted that the organization has actively participated in all electoral events, including internal primaries that were overseen and documented by INEC.
The party confirmed that their national leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have successfully been uploaded to the official INEC portal. Efforts to finalize the registration of Vice Presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and other candidates are currently underway.
Addressing misconceptions, the party stated that no judicial order exists to remove the NDC from the registry. They explained that the active litigation concerns only the party logo, not the overall legality of the party. The NDC remains committed to the 2027 electoral cycle and encourages members to stay focused.
