SDP gubernatorial candidate Muhammad Adamu pledges peaceful campaign for 2027

Former IGP Muhammad Adamu’s SDP campaign team has committed to an issues-based approach, rejecting negative tactics to ensure a peaceful election process in Nasarawa State.

The campaign organization for Muhammad Adamu, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate, has committed to running an issues-focused campaign. Abdulahi Yammani, the campaign director general, stated that the team will avoid negative rhetoric to prevent potential unrest in Nasarawa State. According to Yammani, the focus will remain on promoting peace and stability, which he described as essential prerequisites for progress and the electoral process.

Yammani emphasized that the team is instructed to follow all regulations set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). By prioritizing orderly conduct, the campaign aims to distance the former Inspector General of Police from the aggressive political tactics often seen in regional contests. Supporters argue that Adamu’s professional history, including his leadership roles at Interpol, positions him as a strong candidate for the governorship.

The campaign team also highlighted Adamu’s history of community outreach, noting that he and his wife, Rukayat Muhamed Adamu, have provided humanitarian aid to vulnerable residents. Yammani credited this philanthropic track record with the growing grassroots support for the candidate. He urged supporters to remain law-abiding as the election approaches, expressing confidence that Adamu’s background and initiatives will secure a favorable outcome.
