Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, the Regional Chairman for the Church of Christ in Nations in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, recently announced he received a threatening letter from Fulani herdsmen. In a post shared on his official X account this Friday, Dachomo revealed that the correspondence contained direct threats against his life and the lives of his family members. The incident followed recent violence in the area attributed to armed herdsmen.
According to the Reverend, the note was composed in both Hausa and English. He stated that the authors claimed they would target him and nine of his household members, specifically referencing the past killing of nine of his relatives. Dachomo confirmed that he has submitted documentation of these threats to local law enforcement and security authorities for investigation.
Despite the explicit danger, the clergyman remains steadfast. He noted that he feels no fear, choosing instead to entrust his safety to his faith in God. Security agencies in Plateau State are currently reviewing the reports provided by the church leader.
