Rev. Dachomo Urges Trump to Halt Targeted Violence Against Christians in Plateau

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has called for U.S. intervention to address what he terms a systematic genocide against Christians in Plateau State, following the murder of 22 villagers in Bokkos.

Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, regional chairman for the Church of Christ in Nations in the Barkin Ladi area, has once again petitioned United States President Donald Trump to address what he characterizes as an organized campaign to eliminate Christians in Plateau State. The cleric issued this appeal while presiding over the funeral of 22 individuals murdered by armed groups in Kawel village, located within the Bokkos Local Government Area.

During the burial service, a grieving Reverend Dachomo emphasized that the massacre of these villagers, which included religious leaders, was a deliberate act rather than a random occurrence. He utilized his social media platform on Thursday to warn that any hesitation by the international community, particularly the United States, would leave rural Christian populations increasingly vulnerable to further massacres.

Reflecting on the tragedy, the Reverend described the profound sorrow of burying 22 victims who were killed on June 21. He highlighted the lasting impact on widows, orphans, and parents, noting that these victims were individuals with families rather than mere statistics. He stressed that while his community seeks justice, security, and accountability, they maintain the right to protect themselves from immediate threats.

The cleric concluded his remarks by urging global leaders to stop ignoring the plight of Nigerian Christians. He questioned how many more innocent lives must be sacrificed before effective action is taken to restore safety and peace to the region, relying on his faith to provide comfort to the mourning families during this period of intense national suffering.
