Lagos State Rapid Response Squad members conducted a nighttime sweep along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway, leading to the arrest of more than 30 suspected troublemakers. This police operation occurred this past Sunday with the goal of addressing safety threats and public disturbances affecting commuters.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, announced the news via social media. He explained that these suspects were accused of intimidating drivers, extorting money, and damaging vehicles if payments were refused.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to bolster security across major transit corridors in the state. Wahab confirmed that the Rapid Response Squad plans to continue utilizing intelligence-driven patrols to protect public order and ensure the smooth flow of traffic throughout Lagos.
