President Tinubu Unveils Mabushi Roads to Boost Abuja Economic Development

President Tinubu has commissioned two new collector roads in Abuja’s Mabushi district, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and fostering local economic growth through improved connectivity.

President Bola Tinubu officially opened two vital collector roads in the Mabushi District of Abuja on Friday. The initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and strengthen the economic landscape of the Federal Capital Territory. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President emphasized that Collector Roads 01 and 02 will provide essential links between the Mabushi Bus Terminal and Ahmadu Bello Way.

Addressing the long-standing issue of gridlock in the area, Tinubu noted that these improvements will save commuters valuable time previously lost to inefficient travel. He stressed that better infrastructure promotes business growth, enhances public safety, and facilitates smoother daily operations. The project is a key component of the Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to integrate various parts of the capital and provide citizens with better access to opportunities.

During the event, the President praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his commitment to transforming urban and satellite landscapes through aggressive infrastructure development. Minister Wike highlighted that the inauguration is part of a month-long celebration marking the administration’s third anniversary. He underscored that new roads are direct catalysts for private investment, noting that property development in Mabushi has surged because of improved accessibility.

Responding to critics who previously questioned the necessity of road projects, Wike argued that infrastructure is the foundation of economic progress, job creation, and increased property values. FCT Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud also attended the ceremony, reinforcing the administration’s dedication to modernizing Abuja and urging the public to safeguard these new facilities against damage.
