President Tinubu Launches Tunga Madaki-Zuba Road Project to Enhance FCT Connectivity

President Tinubu has inaugurated the Tunga Madaki-Zuba road project in Abuja, aimed at integrating satellite towns with the Abuja-Kaduna highway and boosting local economic connectivity.

President Bola Tinubu officially started the construction of the Tunga Madaki-Zuba road in Abuja this Monday. This initiative aims to improve links between satellite towns and the major Abuja-Kaduna highway. Representing the President, House Speaker Dr. Tajudeen Abbas noted that this road serves as an extension of the previously commissioned Bill Clinton Drive project.

Addressing the crowd, the President highlighted that the area serves many farmers, students, and traders who deserve reliable infrastructure. Historically, poor road conditions in this corridor hindered local transport, especially during rainy seasons, leading to significant agricultural losses. This new route is designed to connect rural productivity with urban markets, potentially lowering food costs and bolstering local economic growth.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike explained that the project responds to specific requests from local leadership to bypass Gwagwalada. By creating a direct path to the Abuja-Kaduna highway, the new road will offer commuters faster travel times and reduce congestion within the city center. Minister Wike praised the move as a shift toward disciplined planning and the avoidance of abandoned infrastructure projects.

Ultimately, the administration views this road as a critical component of its broader agenda to integrate gateway communities into the capital city. The project represents a commitment to ensuring that infrastructure serves as a bridge to prosperity for residents outside the immediate urban core.
