Police to Prosecute Adeniyi Adeyemi Over Bogus Agency Scheme

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the man behind a fake government agency, is set for court as the police push forward with forgery and impersonation charges.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who identified himself as the Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), will face arraignment in Federal High Court this Tuesday. Authorities have filed an eight-count charge against Adeyemi and two associates, citing forgery and impersonation as primary offenses. Filed on November 27, 2025, by prosecutor Wisdom Madaki, the case was previously delayed on June 16 due to Adeyemi’s health issues.

Key witnesses include Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, various civil servants from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, and individuals allegedly recruited to work at the fraudulent agency. Evidence presented by the prosecution features a petition from Gbajabiamila, a counterfeit appointment letter dated March 8, 2024, and documentation showing Adeyemi’s attempts to secure Central Bank of Nigeria accounts and ministry approvals for land acquisition.

Prior to his arrest, Adeyemi reportedly ran his operations from the Federal Secretariat Complex in Abuja. Following these developments, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to complete a comprehensive inquiry into the agency within 30 days.
