Police Rescue Two Kidnap Victims In Bauchi, Arrest Two Suspects, Three Others On The Run

The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued two kidnap victims and arrested two suspects in connection with their abduction, following a swift operation led by the ‘B’ Division of the Command.

Police spokesperson SP Ahmed Wakil disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, detailing that the incident occurred on October 25, 2025, when 32-year-old Stanley Abuchi, a resident of Wuntin Dada, reported that a group of five armed men stormed his residence in an attempt to kidnap him.

Unable to find him, the kidnappers abducted his girlfriend, 23-year-old Joy Stanley, and his friend, 24-year-old Adam Bala.

Acting promptly on the report, operatives from the ‘B’ Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, intercepted the suspects along Gidan Mai Jos Road in a red Mercedes-Benz.

“During the operation, one suspect, Abubakar Musa (32) of Jos, Plateau State, was arrested, and both victims were rescued unharmed,” Wakil said.

He added that investigations revealed the suspects had demanded a ₦400,000 ransom from Abuchi and also stole items worth ₦60,000, including personal belongings from the victims.

Further police action led to the arrest of another suspect, Dahiru Umar (31) of Yandoya, Jos, on October 27, 2025, with a handcuff recovered as evidence from the operation.

Meanwhile, three other suspects identified as Ibrahim Hassan (alias B13), Pigo, and Musa (surname unknown) remain at large. The police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement read.

Wakil commended residents for their continued support and cooperation, urging them to maintain vigilance and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies.

The development comes barely two weeks after the Rivers State Police Command arrested two notorious kidnappers in Egwi, Etche Local Government Area, who allegedly lured a woman through a dating app and collected ₦200,000 ransom from her family.
