Operation Kosaye Leads to Arrest of 43 Suspects in Ogun State

Ogun State police have arrested 43 suspects, including 28 men and 15 women, in a targeted raid against criminal activity near the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Ogun State Police Command recently apprehended 43 individuals during a night raid conducted by Operation Kosaye at a known criminal hotspot in Isheri-Olofin. The group, which included 28 men and 15 women, was taken into custody by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit around 11:00 p.m. on July 7, 2026, near the Kara Cattle Market on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Officers seized various items during the sweep, including suspected cannabis, “Loud,” mobile phones, and personal documents. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the raid targeted a location reported to be a hub for illegal activities, including cultism and illicit drug use. Following their arrest, all 43 suspects were arraigned in court and subsequently remanded to a correctional center on multiple charges, such as conspiracy, belonging to an unlawful society, and operating unlicensed brothels.

With this latest action, the total number of individuals prosecuted under Operation Kosaye has reached 76. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni praised the SWAT unit for their discipline and underscored the command’s determination to eliminate criminal hideouts throughout Ogun State. He urged the public to continue reporting suspicious activity to help the police maintain security and order.
