Police Launch Manhunt for Couple Accused of Stabbing Chinese Man to Death
The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man named Jonah and his unidentified girlfriend, who are accused of fatally stabbing a Chinese national, Chen Wang, on January 12, 2025.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Wang, a 33-year-old expatriate and the manager of Fujiada Electronics Technology Company Ltd., was reportedly killed in his office around noon.
The company’s manager, Akosile Akinsanmi, informed the Ogere Police Division shortly after the crime occurred.
According to Odutola, while the company’s workers were on their routine break, Jonah and his girlfriend allegedly entered Wang’s office, stabbed him, and fled the scene.
“The company’s manager stated that at around noon on January 12, during the workers’ break, a man named Jonah, whose last name is unknown, along with his unidentified girlfriend, both of whom are still at large, entered the office of Chen Wang, a 33-year-old Chinese national, and fatally stabbed him.
Detectives from the Ogere Police Division conducted a scene investigation, during which photographs of the deceased were taken. The body has been transferred to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for a postmortem examination.
A preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the case will soon be handed over to the SCID for a more detailed inquiry.”
