Oyo State Removes Curfew Across Ten Local Government Areas

Oyo State has officially ended the curfew enforced in ten local government areas near the Old Oyo National Park following a kidnapping incident.

Following a recent abduction case in Oriire, the Oyo State administration has rescinded the curfew previously placed on ten local government areas. These affected zones, which share borders with the Old Oyo National Park, include Atiba, Atisbo, Irepo, Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Olorunsogo, Oriire, Oorelope, Saki West, and Saki East.

The state had initially enforced a restriction from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., which saw a 24-hour extension this past Thursday. On Saturday, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, announced in Ibadan that citizens may return to their daily routines. He thanked the local population for their patience and collaboration during this period.

Furthermore, Oyelade confirmed that the government continues to track security developments in the region. He provided assurances that officials are actively working to resolve the kidnapping situation and improve public safety.
