Musiliu Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo and the current President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), recently stated that his personal wisdom surpasses that of many university degree holders. He shared these thoughts while discussing his journey from a young bus conductor to a prominent figure in the Nigerian transport sector during the 50th birthday celebration of Islamic musician Hafsat Adegoke in Lagos.
Reflecting on his past, Akinsanya explained that he began earning his own money at age 13 by working as a bus conductor. He noted that he was already financially independent as a teenager, supporting both his cinema outings and his mother’s household needs. He attributed his current status to mastering the transport profession through years of dedication rather than relying on formal classroom education.
To support his stance on the value of his life experiences, he pointed to the success of his own children. He proudly mentioned that his offspring have become doctors, lawyers, and engineers currently living in America, serving as evidence that his lack of formal schooling did not hinder his commitment to his children’s academic achievements.
