Oyo State Prolongs Curfew in 10 Districts by One Day

Governor Seyi Makinde has ordered a one-day extension for the curfew covering 10 local government areas near the Old Oyo National Park, pushing the end date to June 27, 2026.

The Oyo State administration has added another 24 hours to the curfew currently in effect across 10 local government areas situated near the Old Oyo National Park.

Governor Seyi Makinde sanctioned this duration increase, as stated in an official notice released this Thursday by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde. The restriction, which mandates a stay-at-home period from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., was originally put in place on June 23, 2026.

Initially planned to last 48 hours, the curfew is now set to expire on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The specific regions impacted include Oriire, Orelope, Irepo, Saki West, Saki East, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Olorunsogo, and Atiba local government areas. As of now, the state government has provided no updates regarding additional extensions beyond this new deadline.
