Moyowa Adejoorin, the Osun State Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, has been released on bail following his detention regarding a shooting at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ilesa. The event took place last Saturday and resulted in injuries to four individuals, including a young person named Tobi Ilesanmi.
Police spokesperson DSP Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed that officers secured the area after the violence erupted to collect evidence. Authorities recovered spent shell casings and caps belonging to Amotekun security personnel at the site. The commissioner was apprehended when his vehicle was stopped at the location, where an Amotekun operative reportedly tied to the gunfire was also detained.
While Adejoorin was initially taken into custody for interrogation, footage later surfaced on social media showing him exiting the police headquarters. DSP Ojelabi verified that the commissioner is now out on bail, though he noted that details regarding the status of the apprehended Amotekun operative remain pending. Police inquiries into the shooting incident are continuing.
