Sesan Fagbayi, the Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, has urged followers of Isese to foster peace and collaboration. During a gathering in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, which included traditional representatives from across the state’s four divisions, Fagbayi stressed that collective representation is essential for obtaining official state recognition. He emphasized that the government is more likely to engage with a unified body rather than fragmented groups.
Reflecting on the 2025 Isese Day, the commissioner praised the worshippers for a well-executed event and expressed optimism for an even more lively celebration in 2026. He also relayed that Governor Dapo Abiodun values their spiritual efforts, particularly their rituals intended to prevent kidnapping and banditry within Ogun. He encouraged them to maintain this partnership with the administration and traditional leaders to benefit the public.
Femi Osanyinpeju, the Director of Culture, noted that the meeting aimed to facilitate early coordination for a successful 2026 festival that includes all regional practitioners. Adebayo Adimula, Chairman of Onifa Yewa/Awori, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support provided by the Abiodun administration, noting that such backing strengthens their commitment to protecting local customs and traditions.
