Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, recently shared an account of a troubling situation he faced while dining alone at an Abuja restaurant. During a press briefing regarding his tenure and urban development initiatives, the former Rivers State governor explained that he had ventured out without his typical security protection.
Upon entering the establishment, Wike was approached by a large crowd of over 50 individuals. While they claimed to be there to greet him, the Minister admitted that the situation made him feel vulnerable rather than welcomed. He eventually informed the staff that he would return later, opting to leave because he no longer felt at ease. As he exited, he was confronted by several individuals soliciting money. Additionally, Wike announced that the FCT Administration is moving toward a ban on motorcycles and tricycles in the city center to improve public safety.
