Nottingham Forest are in advanced negotiations to appoint Sean Dyche as their next head coach following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou.
According to BBC Sport on Monday, Dyche has become the frontrunner for the job, with the club aiming to finalise the agreement by the end of the day.
Postecoglou was dismissed just 17 minutes after Forest’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, which left the team 18th in the Premier League table with only one win from eight matches.
Dyche has held positive discussions with the club in the past 24 hours, and sources suggest his chances of securing the role have increased significantly over the weekend.
Roberto Mancini has also spoken with Forest officials, while Fulham’s Marco Silva remains an admired option. However, Silva’s release clause and the cost of previous managerial changes have made him a more complicated target.
Forest have already paid compensation for sacking both Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo this season, and Silva’s mid-season availability also poses a challenge.
