Cristiano Ronaldo’s Record-Breaking Al-Nassr Contract: £492m Deal Includes Private Jet, Club Stake and 16 Full-Time Staff
Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a historic new contract with Al-Nassr, securing what is now the most lucrative deal in sports history. The two-year extension, reportedly worth £492 million, will keep the Portuguese star at the Saudi Pro League club until at least 2027—by which time he will be 42 years old.
The renewed deal, confirmed on Thursday after months of speculation, includes a basic salary of approximately £488,000 per day. It also features a series of additional incentives and benefits that could push his total earnings beyond the £500 million mark.
Unprecedented Earnings
According to reports, Ronaldo’s new package includes:
A £24.5 million signing bonus, increasing to £38 million should he complete the second year of the deal.
A 15% ownership stake in Al-Nassr, estimated to be worth £33 million.
An official “dream ambassador” role for Saudi Arabia, aimed at promoting the Gulf State globally—particularly in sports and tourism.
A fully funded 16-person private staff including chefs, drivers, housekeepers, gardeners, and security personnel, at an estimated annual cost of £1.4 million.
This agreement surpasses all previous athlete contracts, setting a new benchmark in sports and entertainment compensation.
On the Field
Ronaldo’s form on the pitch continues to impress. He scored 35 goals in 41 matches last season, finishing as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League for the second consecutive year. Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, he has netted 99 goals in 111 appearances.
His current career tally stands at 938 goals, bringing him closer to his publicly stated goal of reaching 1,000 career goals—a feat no player has ever achieved.
Ronaldo Reacts
Announcing the contract renewal on Thursday, Ronaldo posted on social media:
“A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
Global Impact
Beyond football, the contract reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued investment in high-profile international sports figures to bolster its image on the global stage. Ronaldo’s ambassadorial duties are expected to include appearances at national events, tourism campaigns, and youth sports development programmes.
This record-setting contract is the latest chapter in Ronaldo’s extraordinary career, underlining his enduring value as both a global icon and a commercial powerhouse.
