Nigerian Army personnel captured three women suspected of collaborating with ISWAP militants in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. The news was shared via social media by Zagazola Makama, an expert on security matters in the Lake Chad basin.
Makama reported that the military acted on intelligence regarding a planned transfer of a woman into terrorist territory. Soldiers from the 222 Battalion executed a mission at an internally displaced persons camp in Konduga, where the individuals were detained.
The suspects reportedly acted as intermediaries for insurgents, assisting with logistics and communications. Currently, the three individuals are being held by the military as the investigation proceeds. The authorities stated this mission is part of a broader strategy to break down support systems for extremists in the North-East region. Authorities are still probing their potential links to wider insurgent networks.
