The Nigerian Navy has disrupted a criminal network responsible for the theft of over 50 automobiles within the Federal Capital Territory. According to an official announcement made on Wednesday by Naval Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the operation was executed by personnel from the Naval Base in Abuja as part of a broader mission to improve regional security.
During the operation, authorities apprehended Habeeb Ajadi as he attempted to flee the capital. Investigators discovered that the individual had been masquerading as a Nigerian Correctional Service Inspector to mask his illicit operations. The suspect admitted to working with a syndicate that distributed stolen vehicles to buyers outside the territory.
Captain Folorunsho confirmed that efforts to locate additional participants in this scheme remain active. The suspect and all collected evidence have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory Command, to proceed with legal action.
