Soldiers from the Nigerian Army successfully killed two suspected terrorists and seized two motorcycles while conducting an active patrol in the Maradun region of Zamfara State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who monitors developments in the Lake Chad area, shared details of the incident. On July 10, 2026, around 2:00 pm, members of the 1 Brigade launched an offensive against criminal elements operating within the state.
During their mission, the troops moved through Tungar Magaji and Gidan Dawa villages, where they confronted the militants. A firefight erupted, leading to the death of two suspects. The army also reclaimed two motorcycles left behind by the individuals. This operation serves as a component of the broader military strategy intended to disrupt the mobility of extremist factions throughout Zamfara.
