Aishatu Sa’adu, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Niger State, has reported that 15 people died and 25 were injured in a severe traffic accident on the Enagi-Mokwa Road. During a briefing with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna on Sunday, the official explained that the incident occurred on Saturday evening involving two buses traveling in the same direction.
The collision led to a fire that trapped and killed 15 victims. Emergency teams transported the 25 survivors to the Federal Medical Centre in Bida and the General Hospital in Kutigi for medical treatment. Sa’adu stated that the crash was triggered by excessive speed and improper overtaking maneuvers at a curve. She urged all drivers to observe posted speed limits and exercise caution while passing other vehicles to prevent further tragedies.
