NASCO Town Challenges Court Ruling, Advises Against Land Dealings Pending Appeal

NASCO Town Limited has officially appealed a High Court judgment concerning the acquisition of 292 hectares of land, warning the public against land transactions until the legal process is resolved.

NASCO Town Limited has formally contested a Lagos State High Court ruling that nullified the Federal Government’s acquisition of 292 hectares of land. The firm stated that the decision in Suit No. ID/5709LM/2025 is not conclusive, as it has exercised its legal right to appeal the matter at the Court of Appeal.

Following reports on the High Court verdict, which invalidated the government acquisition and ordered damages for the claimants, NASCO released a public notice. The company encouraged all stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and Free Trade Zone operators within NASCO Town, to remain composed. They emphasized that they are committed to protecting existing infrastructure and property rights throughout the judicial process.

The organization issued a strong warning to investors, banks, agents, and developers, advising them to avoid any purchase, lease, or development activity concerning the 292.428-hectare property. NASCO clarified that any transactions conducted with unauthorized parties will be at the buyer’s own risk and dependent on the final outcome of the appeal.

To support its ownership claims, the company cited Federal Government Gazette Notices from 1976 and 1977, noting that its title originates from official government acquisition and lease documents. NASCO maintains that its appeal highlights critical legal concerns regarding government acquisitions, compensation, and the validity of established titles. The firm highlighted that the land is already extensively developed, housing various residential, logistics, and Free Trade Zone operations.

Concluding its statement, NASCO argued that the case holds significant public importance, as it impacts industrial development and investor confidence. The company pledged to continue its legal defense while ensuring the protection of existing residents and workers, urging the public to seek independent legal counsel before engaging in any dealings related to the property.
