Military forces liberate two hostages and block multiple kidnapping bids

Military units rescued two women in Kwara State and thwarted separate kidnapping attempts in Ondo and Niger States during recent security operations.

Soldiers engaged in national security missions recently freed two women in Kwara State and prevented several abduction plots in Ondo State. A report from the News Agency of Nigeria indicated that these actions highlight a consistent campaign against criminal activity.

Operation Savannah Shield troops conducted a patrol in the Patigi region of Kwara, where they located two women abducted on April 2. The victims, who reside in Ndanaku, were found in the Lata-Ndanaku forest after their captors abandoned them. They have since returned to their families.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army at the Bangi Forward Operating Base intercepted terrorists targeting farmers in Mariga, Niger State. The soldiers exchanged gunfire with the attackers, forcing them to retreat into the wilderness. Evidence of injuries was later spotted along the militants’ path.

In Ondo State, Operation MESA members collaborated with police to stop two kidnapping attempts in the Owo district. Security teams arrived at the Ojana and Igbegun areas following emergency alerts, prompting the gunmen to escape into the woods. While one civilian suffered a leg injury and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo, no lives were lost. Military forces are currently scouring the area to locate the suspects and bolster protection for local residents.
